Hood County is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. Hood County is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Granbury Micropolitan Area.
==History==
Hood County was formed in 1866 from portions of Johnson County. It was named after John Bell Hood, a general of the Confederate Army and commander of Hood's Texas Brigade.
